Driving in the city is a love/hate relationship. I love the vibes, especially at night. I hate actually driving in and around the city. Don’t get me wrong, I love *being there* but driving can be a frustrating experience (looking at you, Jersey drivers).

On the other hand, the atmosphere – the visuals mixed with whatever playlist I land on – it makes the frustration worth it.

For a few minutes it stirs the same feelings that cyberpunk media or games with night driving does. It sounds ridiculous but the little things matter. It makes getting by easier.

We had sushi tonight. Kura. Of course the one photo I share isn’t actually sushi but it tasted incredible. Whenever I eat at a place like this and enjoy it there’s someone out there ready to explain why XYZ place is better. I get it. Chains never beat an authentic experience. I have had amazing sushi in Tokyo, I get it.

But it’s not a competition. I used to think the same way. Dropping the dreaded “Um, actually” benefits nobody.

Let people enjoy the little things.

About

Thanks for stopping by the Shrine. This is just a small space I’ve carved out on the net to collect everything from designs I’m working on, photos I take, or media I want to share.

You can also find me at:

neon shudder – my music, an ongoing project. mostly electronic, mostly instrumental, varying in theme and focus over the years. The name comes from the novel “Neuromancer” by William Gibson.

Phantom Port – my brand. It’s an outlet for creativity but does generally have a theme of cyberpunk and futuristic imagery. Some of it is fanart, a lot of it is original. You can also follow along on Instagram here.

My Bluesky –  Not sure how long I’ll be on here, or if I’ll even be active, but it’s better than the hellsite.
