Over the past few years I’ve amassed a pretty solid folder of “favorite” wallpapers. I keep them rotating at random for the two monitor setup I’ve got. Every couple of months I’ll get the itch to add more to collection and delete the ones that don’t click anymore.

I would mostly use Reddit to find them. AI ruined that option. In the world of sharing wallpapers, it’s not exactly a circle of artists vehemently defending their space (and rightfully so) from the AI boom. Most of the places I checked seemed to be overwhelmed by people trying to show off their prompting skills. Fortunately there was an alternative shared in one of those very forums: wallhaven.cc. Not only is there a wealth of interesting wallpaper but they have banned AI wallpapers from being shared on their site.

I’m not naïve.

I know there’s probably some lurking on there, but I feel much better knowing there’s an effort to keep AI out.

Check it out. The image featured above can be found here: https://wallhaven.cc/w/gwq1w3

About

Thanks for stopping by the Shrine. This is just a small space I’ve carved out on the net to collect everything from designs I’m working on, photos I take, or media I want to share.

You can also find me at:

neon shudder – my music, an ongoing project. mostly electronic, mostly instrumental, varying in theme and focus over the years. The name comes from the novel “Neuromancer” by William Gibson.

Phantom Port – my brand. It’s an outlet for creativity but does generally have a theme of cyberpunk and futuristic imagery. Some of it is fanart, a lot of it is original. You can also follow along on Instagram here.

My Bluesky –  Not sure how long I’ll be on here, or if I’ll even be active, but it’s better than the hellsite.
