Self care

Good things on the horizon but still a tough day for other reasons. It all amounted to anxiety and I just took it easy tonight. Rice with teriyaki sauce, kewpie mayo, crispy onions. Oolong tea. An episode each of Barakamon and Dennou Coil.

Barakamon is about a young calligrapher who is sent to live in a tiny village on an island after punching the director of an exhibition. It is feel good, slice of life, and features one of my favorite types of settings. It also makes for a great Spring and Summer show.

Dennou Coil is a show I have restarted a few times. It is another small town show (but much larger than Barakamon’s tiny island community). It features kids using augmented reality and some mystery surrounding the net. This one is a major inspiration for Ghost Mapping despite my limited viewings.

The rice, tea, and low stakes stories helped get my head right.

Back to it, then.

About

Thanks for stopping by the Shrine. This is just a small space I’ve carved out on the net to collect everything from designs I’m working on, photos I take, or media I want to share.

You can also find me at:

neon shudder – my music, an ongoing project. mostly electronic, mostly instrumental, varying in theme and focus over the years. The name comes from the novel “Neuromancer” by William Gibson.

Phantom Port – my brand. It’s an outlet for creativity but does generally have a theme of cyberpunk and futuristic imagery. Some of it is fanart, a lot of it is original. You can also follow along on Instagram here.

My Bluesky –  Not sure how long I’ll be on here, or if I’ll even be active, but it’s better than the hellsite.
